Let them soak for at least 6 hours or overnight.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Preparing the Batter:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>After soaking, drain the water from both the black rice and urad dal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a blender or grinder, grind the soaked black rice and urad dal separately to a smooth paste. You may need to add a little water to achieve the desired consistency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mix both the ground pastes together in a large bowl.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add salt to taste and mix well.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover the bowl and let the batter ferment for about 8-10 hours or overnight in a warm place.
