Pressure cook for 3\u20134 whistles until soft.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mash well and keep aside.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cook Vegetables:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>In a pot, add radish, avarakkai, onion, tomato, a pinch of turmeric, and little water.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cover and cook until the veggies turn soft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add Tamarind Extract:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Squeeze and strain the tamarind pulp.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add it to the cooked vegetables with sambar powder and salt.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Boil for 5\u20137 minutes until raw smell of tamarind goes off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Add Dal:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Add the mashed toor dal and mix well. Adjust consistency with water (medium thick).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Simmer for another 5 minutes on low flame.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tempering:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat gingelly oil in a small pan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add mustard seeds, let them splutter.
