“Indulge in a Symphony of Sweetness: Saffron Silk Delight – Where Tradition Meets Luxurious Flavor!”
Ingredients:
- 1 cup vermicelli (thin)
- 1 liter milk
- 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- A pinch of saffron threads
- 1/4 cup mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios), chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons ghee (clarified butter)
- Saffron strands for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Preparation: Soak saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm milk and set aside. Also, chop the nuts finely and set aside.
- Roasting Vermicelli: In a pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add vermicelli and roast until it turns golden brown, stirring constantly to avoid burning. Once done, remove it from the pan and set aside.
- Preparing Kheer: In a heavy-bottomed pan, bring milk to a boil over medium heat. Keep stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Adding Vermicelli: Once the milk comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and add the roasted vermicelli to the milk. Let it cook on low heat until the vermicelli becomes soft and the milk thickens, stirring occasionally.
- Adding Sugar and Saffron: Add sugar and soaked saffron (along with the milk it was soaked in) to the kheer. Stir well until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Adding Nuts and Flavorings: Add chopped nuts and cardamom powder to the kheer. Stir well and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the flavors meld together.
- Cooling and Serving: Once the kheer reaches your desired consistency, turn off the heat and let it cool slightly. Garnish with a few strands of saffron for an extra touch of luxury if desired.
- Serving: Serve the saffron silk delight (vermicelli kheer) warm or chilled as per your preference. Enjoy the richness and the delicate flavors!
This recipe yields a deliciously creamy and aromatic dessert that’s perfect for any occasion. Adjust the sweetness according to your taste preference.
