Ingredients:
For hot buttermilk:
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon ghee or butter (optional)
For cool buttermilk:
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1/2 cucumber, peeled and diced
- 1 green chili, chopped (optional)
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
- Salt to taste
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
For hot buttermilk:
- In a saucepan, heat the ghee or butter over medium heat.
- Add the ground turmeric, cumin, coriander, and black pepper. Stir for about a minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the buttermilk and stir well.
- Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust salt if necessary.
- Serve hot.
For cool buttermilk:
- In a blender, combine the buttermilk, diced cucumber, green chili (if using), chopped coriander, and salt.
- Blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture into glasses over ice cubes.
- Serve chilled.
